主观方面主要是“自卑心理”的作祟。随着人们生活水平的不断提高，攀比之风盛行。在攀比心理的刺激下，内心脆弱的人想通过增加身外之物的价值弥补内心的自卑感。同时，通过这种攀比可以不断给自己“长脸”从而获得某种虚荣心的满足。

客观方面主要是“人情社会”和“熟人社会”的影响。目前我们处于人情和熟人社会，在日常交往中，很多人讲究“礼尚往来”、“人情消费”，甚至不惜用“经济债”来还“人情债”，给自己造成巨大的经济负担，也造成了“打肿脸充胖子”的扭曲面子观。

因此，我们要努力扭转这种不良的面子观一方面，追求面子应当量力而行，不要“打肿脸充胖子”，有多大能力做多大的事情，有多少金刚钻揽多少瓷器活儿，不要让“面子”成为生活的枷锁。另一方面，要面子，更要讲里子。正如有人说：“人活一世，有的人成了面

子，有的人成了里子，面子要干净，可是里子受伤出血也会染到面子。”因此，真正要追求面子上的干净漂亮，还得从里子抓起。努力消除自卑感和虚荣心，自内向外去了虚火，消了浮肿，通了经脉，活了气血，才能换来真正挺拔的脸面与精神。

Students who get tired of looking at the four walls of a classroom might like to take the nature course being offered by Carvel College again this summer. Groups of about a dozen students each, led by an experienced guide, will go on ten-day camping trips to the mountains to study the plants and animals that grow and live there.
