l Some biscuits and some picture cards

Teaching steps

Warm-up

1. Sing two songs: Apple tree & Train is coming.

2.Greetings:

T: Class begins! Hello, everyone ! How are you today ? Whats the weather like today ?What do you like ?

Pre-task preparation
T: Welcome to my snack bar. Lets see whats in my snack bar . Can you guess? S1:There are apples/pears/pencils/ ???????????????????snack bar?
While-task procedure
T: Welcome to my snack bar. Do you know what is this??

1. Introduce biscuit and say biscuit slowly..Ask students to repeat .

2?T taste a biscuit,Say: Hmm, its delicious . Do you like it? Please ask May I have?(??)

Put up the wallchart for page 8 . Tell a story like this:

Last weekend, Sam and May went shopping with their father.Then they decided to stop for a rest and have something to eat and drink. At a snack bar May looked at all the foodnoodles,pizza,biscuit,and hot dogs.She asked the woman politely May I have a pizza ? Sam and May like to buy food at snack bars-----do you ? What would you buy?



2. Explain the meaning of the expression May I have ? Say the expression slowly and ask students to repeat.





3. Use the food on the table to get students to practise asking for things.

T: Look, I have so many biscuits .Do you want to taste it? Please ask me for the biscuit.

S1/S2/S3/: May I have a biscuit ? T:Sure./Sorry.(????????)

4? Do the same with juice and water.

5. Open the Students Book to page 8. Play the cassette tape. Ask students to listen and follow the tape .



Pre-task activites

1?Say its fun to buy food ! Why dont we try it now ? Divide students into groups of three . Have one student be the shopkeeper and the other two be customers . The customers must ask May I have? Then let them change roles.

2?Report

Ask some students come to the front and act out the scene.(??????? snack bar) Stuents vote for the best group .

Consolidation

Workbook page 5:

A Listen and repeat the correct sentence.

B Listen and put a tick or a cross in the box
?? - May I have a hot dog ?
