Teaching aims:
To make students learn to write how to making dumplings.
To enable students to write an outline before writing.
To make students enjoy Chinese delicious food.
Teaching methodology
Video, pairwork, groupwork
Teaching procedures
Step 1: Lead in
Watch a video of delicious food in China, called Delicious Food in China.
Ask the questions “Do you want to eat them?”, “Can you cook them?” to arouse students learning interest.
Step 2: Review
Review the process of making different food in this unit, such as banana milk shake, fruit salad, popcorn, sandwich, Russian soup, turkey and so on.
Step 3: Retell
Ask students retell how to make banana milk shake, fruit salad with the following words: first, second, next, then, finally, peel, cut up, pour into, turn on, turn off, put, cook, mix up…
Step 4: Presentation
Pairwork: discuss in pairs to know the ingredients of Yunnan Rice Noodles.
A video about the process of making Yunan Rice noodles.
Step 4: Discussion
Groupwork. Ask students to make the students of making Yunnan Rice Noodles in order.
Step 5: Fill in the blanks
Fill in the blanks in the recipe with the following words.
Ask the students to pay attention to the beginning and ending.
Step 6: Conclusion
Conclude the writing structure and words of making a kind of food.
Step 7 Groupwork
Discuss how to making dumplings with the key words.
Write down the passage of making dumplings on the blackboard in groups.
Step 8 Show time
Check the passage each other. Both students and teachers point out the mistakes.

Cook Yunna rice noodles or dumplings for parents after school.
教学反思:本单元的话题作文是写关于一种食物的制作过程,由于在本单元学习中学习了很多事物的制作过程,如奶昔,水果沙拉,爆米花,三明治……,因此,学生本篇话题作文的写作感觉到比较容易;并且,在本节课我又以制作云南过桥米线为例,强化了怎样写食谱;其次,小组学习也是本节课的亮点,让学生自主讨论,相互批改,真正让学生做了课堂的主人,因此,这节课很高效,学生也没觉得很疲惫,摆脱了以往直接让学生一节课就是写作的死板教学,写作课也可以像听说课那样让学生觉得有趣又简单。但是,本节课也有不当之处,如给学生留下的写作时间有点短,导致学生互批和点评有点仓促。
